Southeastern’s Favour Set for NCAA Outdoor Championships

Onyah Favour will compete in the 400-meter dash semifinals Thursday night

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track & field teams will be represented by Onyah Favour at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., Thursday.

Favour is set to compete in the 400-meter dash semifinals at 6:41 p.m. PDT Thursday, taking part in the third heat. The top nine finishers in the semifinals will advance to Saturday's finals. The top nine finishers of the semifinals include the top two from each heat and the next three best times. The finals will take place at 6:02 p.m. PDT Saturday. The meet will be televised on ESPN2, beginning at 7 p.m. CDT on each day of the event.

For the second consecutive season, Favour will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. After qualifying for the race during her sophomore season in 2025, the junior will be taking part in the 400-meter dash semifinals in 2026.

Favour last competed at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Ky in the final week of May. She finished first in the 400-meter dash preliminaries with a 50.56 time to solidify her place in the quarterfinals on the final day of the meet. In the quarterfinals, Favour's second-place finish was second to Georgia's Dejanea Oakley (49.48), who earned silver at the 2025 National Championships and currently holds the best time in the nation, putting the Southeastern Lion among the best 400-meter sprinters in the nation.

In Lexington's quarterfinals, Favour placed second, finishing the race in 50.25 seconds to punch her ticket to the National Championships. Favour's 50.25 time is both a school record and a Southland Conference record.

Her best time from the 2025 season was 51.94 seconds, surpassing her best mark from last year by over 1.6 seconds. Including the NCAA West First Round, Favour's 50.25 mark is the fourth-best performance among all sprinters in the nation.

The four-day NCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships begin Wednesday, June 10, concluding Saturday, June 13. The men will compete on Wednesday and Friday, with the women competing on Thursday and Saturday.
