HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps up a stretch of 14 consecutive games against in-state competition Tuesday in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a 6:30 p.m. game against Tulane at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.

In the previous matchup, April 9 in Hammond, Tulane held on for a 15-14 win.
The Lions picked up three wins this past week, defeating McNeese, 12-3, Tuesday in a nonconference game, splitting a Friday doubleheader at home with Nicholls (W, 3-1; L, 4-1) and rolling to an 11-1 win Saturday in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
Southeastern is hitting .254 collectively, with 53 doubles, 12 triples, 30 home runs and 72 stolen bases. The Lion pitching staff has worked to a combined 4.50 ERA, striking out 345 batters in 352 innings. Opponents are hitting .249 off Southeastern pitching.
Preston Faulkner (.304), the reigning Southland Conference Hitter of the Week, along with
Kyle Schimpf (.296),
Cody Grosse (.295),
Trey Harrington (.283) and
Nick Ray (.279) key Southeastern's approach at the plate. Schimpf leads the team with seven home runs and 40 RBIs. Grosse tops the Southland with 23 stolen bases.
The Lions are slated to start sophomore right-hander
Will Warren (2-5, 6.55), countering Tulane freshman right-hander Krishna Raj (3-0, 4.93) on the mound.
Kody Hoese paces Tulane with a .415 average and 51 RBIs. He also leads the nation with 20 home runs. Other top hitters for the Green Wave include Trevor Jensen (.369), Hudson Haskin (.366), Frankie Niemann (.344) and Grant Matthews (.322). Jonathan Artigues (.309) owns a team-high six stolen bases.
The Green Wave ranks second nationally in doubles (97), third in runs scored (351), fourth in home runs (65) and seventh in batting average (.313). They have combined for 24 stolen bases. Tulane's pitching staff has worked to a 5.19 ERA so far under former Lion pitching coach Daniel Latham, striking out 354 batters in 347 innings. Opponents are hitting .246 off Green Wave pitching.
Tulane dropped two of its three games this past week, falling Tuesday at home to New Orleans (L, 15-10) and splitting a Saturday doubleheader in conference action at Memphis (L, 11-8; W, 20-5).
Southeastern resumes Southland action Friday at 6 p.m. with the opening game of three-game series at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
