BATON ROUGE, La – The Southeastern Louisiana track team sent 27 student-athletes to the LSU Alumni Gold outdoor meet Saturday at Bernie Moore Track and set five personal bests.
 
Tara Stuntz (5000m), Tahrike Jones (400m), Parker McBride (800m), Reed Callegan (3000m steeple chase) and Cole Belkwell (hammer throw) all set career high marks Saturday.
 
Stuntz, a sophomore, finished the 5000m at 18:19.65. The Slidell, Louisiana native is now ranked 11^th in the conference with just two weeks until the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
 
Jones finished fourth in the 400m. The sophomore crossed the line at 47.52 for a personal best putting the Lutcher, Louisiana native seventh in the Southland rankings behind teammate Donovan Storr.
 
McBride placed sixth in 800m with 155.01 for a personal best. The Dutchtown, Louisiana native, is quickly moving up the conference rankings, to number 16.
 
Belkwell, the freshman, set a personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 179-7 (54.74m). The Kitchener, Canada native is fifth in the Southland.
 
Callegan, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, ran a 9:59.12 in the 3000m steeple chase for a personal best as well.
 
Reigning Southland Conference Indoor shotput champion Ashley Davis, a junior, won the shot put with a mark of 51 feet, 11.25 inches (15.83m). The Watson, Louisiana native, just missed passing her season-high of 52- 3.75 (15.94m)

The Lions will be back in action Friday at Southern Miss Open in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in their final tune up before the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships May 3-5 in Natchitoches.
