NATCHITOCHES, La. – Southeastern Louisiana's
Flory Bierma picked up a singles victory, but it was not enough as league-leading Northwestern State handed the Lions a 6-1 loss in Southland Conference women's tennis action Sunday afternoon at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
Despite Bierma's victory on the No. 4 court, the Lions fell to 5-10 overall and 2-5 in league play. NSU (15-3, 7-0 Southland) remained undefeated in league play with Sunday's victory.
"We had a great effort today," Southeastern head coach

Two of the singles matches stretched to super tie-breakers. Bierma rallied from a set down to defeat Patrycja Polanska, 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 13-11 on No. 4. On No. 3, NSU's Rhea Verma outlasted Lion senior
Ceci Mercier, 6-2, 3-6, 10-8.
