JONESBORO, Ark. – The Southeastern Louisiana golf team will play in the Bubba Barnett Intercollege Tournament Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 6,539-yard Ridgepointe Country Club.
 
The 11-team field includes host Arkansas State, SLU, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Jacksonville State, Missouri State, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, ULM, Nebraska-Omaha and Tennessee-Martin.
 
Joris Etlin, Bailey Smith, Logan Kuehn, Miller Maestri and Kris Kerr will be in action for the Lions.
 
Etlin, a senior, continues to lead the team in stroke average (74.14). The Frejus, France native and September Southland Conference Golfer of the Month has finished in the top 13 three times this year.
 
Maestri, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana product, leads the team in birdies with 61. The sophomore has shown the ability to dominate after shooting a team season-low 67 in the final round of the Sam Hall Intercollegiate Tournament Sept. 18 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
 
The tournament is the Lions' final tune up before the Southland Conference Championship Apr. 22 in McKinney, Texas.
 
"It's going to be a very cold week," said SLU golf head coach Jake Narro. "But the course is in good shape and very playable so I don't see the weather hurting us."
 
SLU opens the 54-hole tournament Monday morning at 8:15 a.m. and will play 36 holes before finishing Tuesday morning with the final round.
