LAKE CHARLES, La. – After a three week layoff, the Southeastern golf team will return to action Monday at the Toyota Invitational hosted by McNeese at the Golden Nugget Country Club (par-72, 7,007 yards).
The tournament features 18 teams including McNeese, SLU, Texas Tech, TCU, Nicholls, Texas State, Missouri State, UL Lafayette, Rice, Louisiana Tech, ULM, Texas-San Antonio, UNO, Arkansas-Little Rock, Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, Arkansas State and Team Sweden.
The Lions are led by senior
Joris Etlin. The Frejus, France native has a stroke average of 73.75 through 16 rounds this year.
Sophomore Kris Kerr is shooting an average 75.36 in 14 rounds. The Loranger, Louisiana native has two runner-up finishes this year (Battle of New Orleans – Sept. 11 and LaTour Challenge – Feb. 11).
Miller Maestri is right behind Kerr with an average round of 75.44. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native finished third at the Battle of New Orleans and shot a season-low 67 in the final round of the Sam Hall Intercollegiate Sept. 18 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Sophomore
Logan Kuehn (75.50) and senior
Bailey Smith (75.80) will join Maestri, Kerr and Etlin.
SLU will play 36 holes Monday before wrapping up the tournament Tuesday morning with the final round.
