Final Results
LAFAYETTE, La. – Sophie Daigle (10000m),
Ashley Davis (shot put) and
Adam Cortez (5000m) took home titles at the Louisiana Classics Friday and Saturday at the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Complex.
SLU was joined in the meet by UL Lafayette, Dillard, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Loyola (New Orleans), McNeese State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, North Georgia, Southern, Stephen F. Austin, Tulane, ULM and Xavier (New Orleans).
Daigle, a sophomore from Donaldsonville, Louisiana, won the women's 10000m (38:11.47) Friday outlasting LSU's Amber Desselle (38:49.66).
Davis, a junior from Watson, Louisiana, took home the women's shot put title for SLU with a mark of 49 feet, 3.50 (15.02m).
Cortez, a sophomore from El Paso, Texas, won the 5000m race Saturday night finishing in 15:19.74.
Friday in the men's 10000m, the Lions finished second, third and fourth place with
Anthony Cordero (2
nd),
Grant O'Callaghan (3
rd) and Cortez (4
th).
Alexia Stein, a senior from Baldwin City, Kansas, finished second in the women's discuss throwing 151-0 (46.04m) Saturday afternoon.
Southeastern's next full squad meet is Saturday, March 23 when they host the Southeastern/Southern Duals at the Southeastern Track Complex.
