FRISCO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's track & field teams were honored by the Southland Conference Wednesday, when the conference announced
Onyah Favour as this week's SLC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Favour has put together a strong season in 2026 in both indoor and outdoor track. In her first time receiving the award, Favour was honored by the conference during the indoor season, winning the Track Athlete of the Week award in February.
At the East Coast Relays Saturday, Favour posted a second-place finish of 52.01 in the 400-meter dash. The junior's 52.01 time is the second-best mark in the Southland this season, in addition to being the 38
th-best time in NCAA Division I. The sprinter's 52.01 performance is 22
nd in the NCAA East Region, which puts her in good standing to qualify for the NCAA Preliminary Round for the second consecutive season in Lexington, Ky., at the end of May.
Favour and the Lions will continue competition when the Southeastern men's and women's track and field teams travel to Nacogdoches, Texas, for the Southland Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, beginning Thursday, May 14.
