HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team will return home on Saturday, hosting McNeese for a noon Southland Conference match at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The Lions (4-6, 1-1 Southland) are coming off a 4-3 league road victory at Lamar last Friday. After taking the doubles point, SLU's Putri Insani and Ceci Mercier earned straight-set victories, then Flory Bierma rallied from a set down to earn a three-set triumph on court 6 to secure the team's first Southland win.

Insani (5-2, 2-0 Southland) is the team's top singles player. Mercier (4-2, 1-1), Ximena Yanez (2-1, 1-1) and Bierma (3-5, 1-1) also have singles victories in conference play to their credit.

SLU are 5-0 in doubles play versus Southland foes. Insani and Yanez (4-2, 2-0), Mercier and Vicky Scholz (2-0, 2-0), as well as Bierma and Katya Cornejo (3-5, 1-0) have been excellent as of late in doubles play.

McNeese will be looking to even its conference record after falling to Lamar, 4-3, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 5-2, in the last two matches. Charoline Erlandsson (12-0) is the top singles player for the Cowgirls.

In doubles play, McNeese has used 11 different teams this spring. Dalia Ahmad and Giovanna Fioretti have a team-best 4-2 record as a team.

Following Saturday's match, SLU will head to Beaumont to make up a pair of league matches that were rained out earlier this season. Southeastern will face Incarnate Word on Friday, March 22 at 11 a.m. and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday, March 24 at noon.
