BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – SLU's

Maya Jackson,
Destinee Jeanpiere,
Taylor Mumford and
Jamira Patterson will compete at the Jaguar Indoor Invitational track meet Sunday at the Birmingham CrossPlex Facility.
The meet includes SLU, Alabama-Birmingham, Alcorn State, Jackson State, Lee (Tenn.), Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Mercer, Meridian CC, Mississippi Valley State, Samford, South Alabama and Texas State.
Alex, Patterson and
Maya Jackson will compete in the 400m. Patterson, a freshman from Killeen, Texas, won the 400m at the McNeese Indoor II in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jan. 25.
Bowman and Jeanpiere will take their marks in both the 60m and 200m while Taylor will race in the 60m.
Aareion Jackson, a senior from Metairie, Louisiana, won the 200m at McNeese and will jump back in the mix of the 200m race Sunday.
Patterson, Alex, Collie and
Maya Jackson will race in the 4X400 relay after claiming the title at McNeese as well.
"I'm really looking forward to how these eight women are going to compete," said second-year SLU track head coach
Corey Mistretta. "This is the most healthy and prepared this group has been collectively in a long time, so it should be fun. We are hoping to post some marks that will move us up the Southland performance list as we continue to prepare for the indoor championships in a few weeks."
