Box Score RUSTON, La. – A combined 10 players scored in double figures, as Louisiana Tech out-gunned Southeastern Louisiana, 92-78, in nonconference women's basketball action Friday evening at the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Lady Lions (3-5) had their three-game winning streak snapped in their preconference finale. Louisiana Tech improved to 6-3 overall, defeating Southeastern for the second straight season, building a 17-point first quarter lead and never looking back.
Celica Sterling and
Charliee Dugas finished with 17 points apiece to share game-high scoring honors for SLU. The Lady Lion duo was joined in double figures by teammates
Jyar Francis and
Breonca Ducksworth with 11 points each, while
Hailey Giaratano narrowly missed double figures with nine points. Ducksworth came off the bench to lead all players with seven assists.

First Quarter
Consecutive three-point field goals by Guinto fueled a 10-0 run that staked Louisiana Tech to an early 16-5 lead. The Lady Techsters were able to sustain a double-digit advantage throughout the opening period, thanks in large part to a 12-for-18 success rate from the free throw line.
Sterling helped Southeastern end the period with some momentum, nailing a 30-footer at the buzzer. However, Louisiana Tech still led, 28-14, after the initial 10 minutes.
Second Quarter
Southeastern would not get closer than 10 in the second quarter. Ducksworth scored six points in a half-closing 9-4 run that trimmed the halftime deficit to 45-34.
Third Quarter
SLU pulled even closer in the early moments of the third quarter.
Tyler Morrison found an open Jubril under the hoop with 4:46 left in the period to cut the LTU lead to 52-45.
However, the rest of the quarter belonged to the hosts. Louisiana Tech closed the half with a 20-9 run to go into the final period with a 72-56 cushion.
Fourth Quarter
Louisiana Tech would grow the lead to 21 early in the final period, as Roberson hit a three to stretch the lead to 82-61 with 6:50 remaining. Southeastern could pull no closer than 12 down the stretch, losing a game for the first time since Nov. 20.
