FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Anthony Cordero was the top finisher for the Southeastern Louisiana men's cross country team at the NCAA South Central Regionals Friday afternoon at Agri Park hosted by the University of Arkansas.

Cordero, a junior, finished 46
th in a field of 156 runners and 29 teams. The El Paso, Texas native recorded a personal best in the 10K running 31:37.80. The Franklin High School Grad was not far from the top 20 as he finished less than a minute behind 20
th place Andrew Bosquez of Houston Baptist.

"The guys averaged 32:48 for the 10k race," said SLU distance running coach
Rocky Capello. "They ran hard and did really well. This was the toughest and hilliest course we've run in my four years at SLU. I'm very proud of their effort and I'm looking forward to a great track season."

Texas and Arkansas took the top two spots in the regional to advance to the NCAA Championships. UT's Sam Worley and John Rice finished first and second individually.

The Lions will begin the outdoor track season in the middle of January. The full schedule will be released at a later date.
