CLINTON, Miss. – The Southeastern women' s cross country team finished second overall while the men took fourth place Saturday morning at the Mississippi College Invitational at Choctaw Trails in the final tune up before the Southland Conference Championships.

In the women's 6K race, SLU had four finish in the top 25 out of 150 runners led by junior
Sophie Daigle.
Â
The Donaldsonville, Louisiana native finished second four her fourth consecutive top 10 finish. Southeastern's
Tara Stuntz,
Lindsey Hutcheson and
Blair Vignes finished 13
th, 17
th and 25
th respectively.

On the men's side,
Anthony Cordero led the way for the Lions finishing third in the 8K race. The junior from El Paso, Texas has finished in the top 20 in each race this year.

SLU's
Adam Cortez finished 17
th while Shea Foster,
Thom Reynders and
Zach Barthel had solid showing finishing 33
rd, 35
th and 36
th to pace the Lions.

Houston Baptist won the team championship in both the men's and women's races.

Next up, SLU will have three weeks to prepare for the conference championships Friday, Nov. 1 in Conway Arkansas.
