HAMMOND, La. – Nine former members of the Southeastern Louisiana football team will participate in the program's Pro Day on Friday at 11 a.m. at the New Orleans Saints Indoor Training Facility in Metairie.
The former Lions participating will share the field with next-level hopefuls from Tulane and Nicholls. The event is open to the media, but closed to the general public.
Representing the Lions will be wide receiver
Brandon Acker, defensive lineman
Anthony Murphy, fullback
Juwaan Rogers, offensive lineman
Taylor Gadbois, defensive lineman
Jon Taylor, quarterback
Justin Alo, defensive back
Will Hines, as well as running backs
Rasheed Harrell and
Kaelyn Henderson.
Southeastern has had two players drafted in the past four drafts, in defensive backs Robert Alford (2
nd Round, Atlanta Falcons) and Harlan Miller (7
th Round, Arizona Cardinals)/ In each of the past seven seasons, SLU has had at least one player sign a free agent deal or receive a camp invite following the draft.
The former Lions' future teammates just finished spring practice with last Saturday's Spring Game. The 2017 Lions will open the season at in-state and FBS foe UL Lafayette on Sept. 2 in Lafayette.
