CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana returns to Southland Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Chapman Field.
 
All three games can be heard in the Hammond, Louisiana, area on KSLU 90.9 FM, and worldwide online or through the TuneIn Radio app (search for KSLU). Southeastern is coming off a 12-9 win Tuesday over South Alabama, completing a sweep of the three-game season series.
 
Taylor Schwaner (.375), Drew Avans (.311) and Carson Crites (.290) lead Southeastern at the plate. Schwaner has hit a team-best seven home runs. His Southland Conference-leading 39 RBIs rank seventh nationally. Derrick Mount leads the nation with seven sacrifice flies. Avans has a team-high 13 stolen bases.
 
The Lions are hitting .243 as a team, with 41 doubles, 13 triples, 24 home runs and 53 stolen bases, ranking 10th nationally in both triples and stolen bases. Southeastern's pitching staff enters the series with a 4.15 ERA, having fanned 216 batters through 260.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .248 off Lion pitching.
 
Friday at 6 p.m., the Lions will send junior right-hander Mac Sceroler (5-0, 3.37) to the mound opposite A&M-Corpus Christi redshirt freshman right-hander Dustin Lacaze (1-0, 7.88).

Sophomore right-hander Corey Gaconi (2-2, 3.04) gets the starting nod at 4 p.m. Saturday versus Islander junior righty Cole Carter (2-4, 7.17).
 
A&M-Corpus Christi is slated to start senior right-hander Devin Skapura (1-3, 5.75) in the series finale against Lion sophomore righty Carlisle Koestler (1-2, 4.80) Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Dalton Stark (.325), Cullen Jozwiak (.321) and Brett Burner (.310) lead the Islanders at the plate. Nick Anderson and Jackson Owens lead the ballclub with three home runs apiece. Anderson has driven in a team-high 23 runs. Dawson Yates has swiped a team high seven bags.
 
A&M-Corpus Christi is hitting .277 as a team, with 43 doubles, 10 triples, 13 home runs and 33 stolen bases. The Islanders' pitching staff enters the series with a 6.34 ERA, having fanned 222 batters in 261 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .299 off A&M-Corpus Christi pitching.
 
The Islanders have won back-to-back games, including a 5-2 decision Tuesday at former Southland foe UTSA, snapping a four-game skid.
 
Southeastern returns to Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field next week to host Northwestern State in a three-game, Southland Conference series. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
 
General Admission tickets for single home games are $9 for adults and $6 for children (ages 3-12). Tax is included in the price of admission. Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.
