Lions, UL Lafayette Wrap up Season Series

LAFAYETTE, La. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps up its three-game series with UL Lafayette Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the new M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
 
The Lions (22-13) have taken the first two games against UL Lafayette (21-14-1) by scores of 5-4, in 14 innings, and 15-3.
 
Fans can listen to the game in the Hammond, Louisiana, area on KSLU 90.9 FM, and worldwide online or through the TuneIn Radio app (search for KSLU). Streaming video, provided by UL Lafayette, will also be available. Fans can keep up with the game through live statistics or by following @SLUathletics on Twitter.

The Lions are looking to rebound from a, 6-4, conference loss Sunday at home to Northwestern State. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak.
 
Taylor Schwaner (.375), Drew Avans (.293), Carson Crites (.279) and Derrick Mount (.275) lead Southeastern at the plate. Schwaner is the conference leader with 12 home runs and ranks fourth nationally with 51 RBIs. Mount is third nationally with seven sacrifice flies. Avans has a team-high 16 stolen bases.
 
The Lions are hitting .239 as a team, with 47 doubles, 14 triples, 33 home runs and 65 stolen bases. Southeastern's pitching staff enters the game with a 3.89 ERA, having fanned 269 batters through 312.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .247 off Lion pitching.
 
Wednesday at 6 p.m. the Lions will send Mount (1-0, 3.48), a senior right-hander, to the mound opposite Ragin' Cajun freshman right-hander Jack Burk (2-4, 2.58).
 
Ishmael Edwards (.338), Steven Sensley (.314) and Todd Lott (.313) lead UL Lafayette at the plate. Sensley, who is tied with Joe Robbins for the team-lead in home runs (4), paces the squad with 25 RBIs. Brenn Conrad has stolen a team-high six bases.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns are hitting .276 as a team, with 60 doubles, 12 triples, 20 home runs and 35 stolen bases. UL Lafayette's pitching staff enters the week with a 3.20 ERA, having fanned 367 batters in 331.2 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .208 off Ragin' Cajun pitching.
 
UL Lafayette, which swept a three-game Sun Belt Conference series from Arkansas State over the weekend, plays Tuesday at Tulane before facing the Lions.
 
Southeastern returns to Southland Conference play this coming weekend with a split series against rival Nicholls. The series opener is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The middle game of the series shifts to Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field in Hammond, Louisiana, Saturday at 2 p.m. The series finale returns to Ray E. Didier Field in Thibodaux for a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.
 
General Admission tickets for Lion home games are $9 for adults and $6 for children (ages 3-12). Tax is included in the price of admission. Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.

Students and campus organizations can earn points toward their Lion Up Loyalty account at any home game by checking in on the mobile app while in attendance.

Ticket office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Fridays. The box office at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens one hour prior to the scheduled first pitch.
