HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana returns home Wednesday to host No. 18-ranked UL Lafayette at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. The teams will resume a suspended game at 5 p.m. prior to the contest already scheduled for March 29.
Rained out on Opening Night, Southeastern (14-9) and the Ragin' Cajuns (13-9) rescheduled the game for the following Monday, but rain affected the schedule once again.
Suspended in the bottom of the 11th inning, tied 4-4, play will resume at 5 p.m. with two outs,
Taylor Schwaner running at first base and
Drew Avans at the plate. The contest originally scheduled for March 29 will follow, at least 30 minutes later, beginning no earlier than 6 p.m.
The resumption and regularly scheduled contest will both be televised live on Cox Sports Television (Charter 324 / 815 HD). Outside CST's coverage area only, the game is available on ESPN3, WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN app. ESPN3 is also available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Sling TV, Chromecast and Roku.
Both games can be heard in the Hammond, Louisiana, area on KSLU 90.9 FM and worldwide online or through the TuneIn Radio app (search for KSLU). Fans can keep up with the game through live statistics or by following @SLUathletics on Twitter.
Following the theme of the day, fans will be treated to a Way Back playlist Wednesday featuring 80's and 90's music during the games.
Wednesday's full game (contest following the resumption) is also a Cane's Challenge game. If the Lions score four or more runs, fans can take their game ticket or student coupon to their local participating Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers by the end of business on the following day to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.
