HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana will look to climb up the leaderboard in its second tournament of the fall season as the Lions compete in the 12
th annual Jim Rivers Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will feature 13 teams, including Southeastern and host Louisiana Tech. Also scheduled to compete are Southland Conference rivals Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Stephen F. Austin and New Orleans, along with Louisiana Tech, Missouri State, Southern Miss, Louisiana-Monroe and Western Kentucky.
"It's a good indicator (of where we are)," Southeastern head coach
Jake Narro said of playing against the Southland squads. "It's a good time to play good."
The tournament will include 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. both days on the par-72, 7,070-yard course. Live stats, provided by Louisiana Tech, will be accessible on the Southeastern golf schedule page at www.lionsports.net.

Southeastern is coming off a tie for 10
th at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, with a 13-over-par 865. Obermann set a career high with a tie for sixth after shooting a 2-under 211, tying a career-best with 3-under 68 in the final round. Meyers also went low on the final day, firing a 2-under 69 to finish tied for 28
th at 3-over 216. Anstiss tied for 53
rd at 7-over 220 while sophomore
Bailey Smith tied for 64
th at 9-over 222. Etlin finished 76
th at 14-over 227.
"It's a great golf course and we're looking forward to improving," Narro said of this week's tournament. "We felt like we played OK (last week) but our finish didn't say that. We need a better finish."
Southeastern has had two individual champions at the Jim Rivers with Cedric Scotto capturing the title in 2010 and Horacio Leon the following season. Southeastern finished second as a team in 2013.
