Southeastern Set to Compete at Austin Peay Intercollegiate

SLU looks to build on strong showing in last tournament

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team will return to action this week, competing in the Austin Peay Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn.
 
Southeastern will be part of a 16-team field competing on the 7,147-yard, par-72 course. The first two rounds are set for Monday with the final 18 holes scheduled for Tuesday. The action will tee off at 8 a.m. both days and live scoring, provided by the hosts, will be accessible via the golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
 
The Lions will be one of three Southland Conference schools in the field, along with Nicholls and East Texas A&M. In addition to host Austin Peay, the field also includes Bellarmine, Bradley, Chicago State, Cleveland State, High Point, Jacksonville State, Lindenwood, Murray State, Southern Indiana, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin and Western Kentucky.
 
SLU is back on the course for the first time since March 2, when the Lions completed a third-place showing at the Colin Montgomerie HCU Invitational. Griffin Dorr (T13th) and Noah Bumgarner (T17th) helped the Lions to their best finish of the spring.
 
Dorr and Bumgarner will both be in this week's starting five, along with David Marsh, Patrick Blaum and Gavin Ingram. Southeastern will be grouped with Nicholls, Bradley and Lindenwood for Monday's first 36 holes.
 
Following this week's tournament, SLU will take a couple of weeks off before taking part in the Arkansas State Spring Invitational April 13-14 in Jonesboro, Ark.
