HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University students will receive a finals stress-relief packet while supplies last and all fans in attendance are invited to stay for a postgame showing of "Angels in the Outfield" on the videoboard at Wednesday's 6 p.m. Lion baseball game against Jackson State at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
The game features two of the top hitters in the nation. Southeastern (31-13) is led by
Jameson Fisher. A junior from Zachary, Louisiana, he ranks second in the nation in both batting average (.447) and on-base percentage (.578), while Cornelius Copeland of Jackson State (26-23) ranks third with a .441 batting average.

Southeastern is coming off a series sweep of conference-foe Houston Baptist this past weekend.
Five everyday players are hitting .300 or better for the Lions, including Fisher,
Drew Avans (.328),
Carson Crites (.324),
Webb Bobo (.309) and
Brennan Breaud (.308). Fisher also leads the squad with 10 home runs and 52 RBIs. Southeastern is hitting .292 as a team, with 66 doubles, 16 triples, 39 home runs and 79 stolen bases.
Fisher, the Lions' first baseman, also ranks sixth nationally in slugging percentage (.745), ninth in sacrifice flies (6) and 11th in walks (41).
Southeastern's pitching staff enters the weekend series with a 2.51 ERA, the third-lowest in the nation, and has fanned 356 batters through 383.1 innings of work. Ranked fifth in hits allowed per nine innings (7.18), opponents are hitting .219 off Lion pitching.
Right-hander
Pat Cashman (3-3, 4.89) draws the starting assignment for Southeastern. Jackson State has not announced a starting pitcher.
The Tigers' pitching staff has compiled a 5.40 ERA, fanning 377 batters in 396.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .279 off Jackson State pitching.
Copeland (.441), Carlos Diaz (.405) and Calvin Newsome (.363) pace the Tigers at the plate. Jesus Santana leads the squad with 16 home runs, ranking third nationally, and 56 RBIs. Bryce Brown owns a team-high 18 stolen bases.
Jackson State is hitting .320 as a team, with 95 doubles, 17 triples, 47 home runs and 88 stolen bases. The Tigers' .424 on-base percentage is the third-highest in the nation and so is their scoring average of 8.6 runs per game. They lead the nation in being hit by pitches (92), while being ranked fifth in hits (505), sixth in stolen bases and eighth in batting average.

Southeastern travels to Lamar this coming weekend for a key Southland Conference series in Beaumont, Texas. The first-place Lions lead third-place Lamar by two games in the conference standings, with three weeks left in the regular season.
