HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana looks to clinch its eighth-consecutive bid to the Southland Conference Baseball Tournament this weekend, hosting Lamar in a three-game series.
Game times are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
The series opener is a $5 Friday contest. All adult general admission tickets are only $5. Along with the reduced ticket price, the concession stand will offer a combo special for $5.
Saturday's game will feature Bingo at the Ballpark. Baseball-themed bingo cards will be given out to all fans and students. Prizes will be awarded to the first 20 fans with bingo. The first participant to produce an "S" on their bingo card will receive $100.
Sunday is Academy Family Day. A bounce house inflatable will be set up outside of left field for all of the smaller Southeastern fans along with family-friendly promotions going on throughout the game.
All three games can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 FM, online and through either the KSLU or TuneIn Radio smartphone apps. The defending conference tournament champs, Southeastern's magic number to clinch a spot sits at one. One win by the Lions (33-13, 17-4 Southland) or one loss each by Lamar (19-25, 8-13 Southland) and Stephen F. Austin assures Southeastern of a spot in the 2015 tournament scheduled for May 20-23 at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas.

Jacob Seward broke the Southeastern hitting-streak record, but it was not enough for the Lions as they fell, 5-4, to Tulane in 10 innings Tuesday in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Seward tops the Southland in batting average, runs scored (43), hits (65) and on-base percentage (.473). Midyett's seven home runs and 39 RBIs lead the conference as well.
Ryan Byers leads the team with 14 stolen bases.
The Lions are hitting a conference-best .306 as a team and have been successful on 66-of-92 stolen base attempts, also tops in the conference. The pitching staff has compiled a 3.63 ERA, fanning 374 batters in 404.2 innings pitched.
Tate Scioneaux (6-2, 3.66), a junior right-hander from Reserve, Louisiana, draws the series opening nod for Southeastern. He matches up with southpaw Chase Angelle (5-4, 1.97) for the Cardinals.
With 20 career victories, Scioneaux is sits tied with Richard Simon, Wayne Silva and current Boston Red Sox left-hander Wade Miley for seventh on Southeastern's all-time pitching wins list. Scioneaux is also sixth on the career list in innings pitched (283.1) and 10th in strikeouts (227).
The Lions will send junior right-hander
Jake Johnson (8-1, 2.94) to the mound in the second game of the series against Lamar righty Collin Chapman (0-0, 2.35).
Southpaw
Kyle Cedotal (6-2, 1.82), a junior from Denham Springs, Louisiana, draws the starting nod for Southeastern in Sunday's series finale against Cardinal right-hander Eric Foshee (2-5, 6.68).
Stijn van der Meer (.339), Jake Nash (.331) and Mason Salazar (.327) lead Lamar at the plate. Kevin Santana is the team's home run leader with five. Kyle Markum owns a team-high 26 RBIs and C.J. Moore leads the squad with 12 stolen bases.
The Cardinals are hitting .295 as a team, second-best in the Southland, and have been successful on 31-of-47 stolen base attempts. The pitching staff has compiled a 4.10 ERA, fanning 286 batters in 381.2 innings pitched.
Lamar, which is coming off a 6-2 home loss to Texas Southern this past Wednesday evening, has dropped its last three games.
General admission tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 3-12). Children younger than three are admitted free with a paying adult. Southeastern students are also admitted free with their university ID card.
