HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana softball team will head back out on the road to face Southland Conference rival Nicholls State this weekend in a three-game league series.
The series between the Lady Lions (14-19, 6-9 Southland) and the host Colonels (14-27, 4-9 Southland) will open with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. On Sunday, the series closes out with a 12 p.m. contest. Live stats for the series, provided by Nicholls State, will be available at LionSports.net.
Southeastern enters the weekend having won five of its last seven contests. The Lady Lions swept Southland Conference foe Incarnate Word last weekend in Hammond.
The Lady Lions enter the series with a .259 team batting average. Sophomore outfielder
Amanda Livaudais leads the team with a .409 batting average, followed by sophomore outfielder
Katie Lacour (.375) and junior outfielder/second baseman
Vanessa Eng (.333). Lacour, who is on a 10-game hitting streak, leads the team with 21 runs and 39 hits.

Megan Moore leads the team with seven home runs and 28 runs batted in. Sophomore designated player
Amber Sather (4 HR, 21 RBI) and freshman catcher
Lacey Fritz (4 HR, 18 RBI) are the team's other top power threats. Senior outfielder
Jessie Browne leads the team with seven doubles, followed by senior second baseman
Megan McCollum and Sather with six doubles apiece.

The Southeastern pitchers will face a Nicholls team that has a .261 team batting average. Freshman outfielder Taylor Terrio leads the team with a .379 batting average, while senior designated player/catcher Brittany Marcet has a team-high four home runs and 27 RBI.
NSU has used five pitchers this season and has a 3.94 team ERA. Freshman Jackie Johnson (8-13, 2.82 ERA) and sophomore Hannah Haydel (3-11, 4.39 ERA) have split the majority of the time in the circle.
Following the series, Southeastern will head to Baton Rouge for a 4 p.m. contest at Southern on Tuesday.
