HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana tennis team will close out the fall portion of its 2014-15 schedule this weekend, playing in the Big Easy Tennis Classic hosted by UNO.
In the No. 1 singles flight, SLU will be represented by junior
Renee Villarreal and sophomore
Margaux Kaltenbacher. Villarreal opens the tournament with a match versus Kaja Mrgole of West Virginia. Jackson State's Bright Phakamad awaits Kaltenbacher in the opening round.
The No. 2 singles flight will also see a pair of Lions compete. Freshman
Anna Bryukhova will face the winner of Jackson State's Daria Butorina and Loyola's Meghan De Baroncelli. SLU freshman
Madina Vorotnikova will face Xavier's Brion Flowers in the opening round.
The remainder of the Lion roster will compete in the No. 3 singles bracket. Sophomore
Avika Sagwal will take on Akshatha Ananth of Jackson State. Freshman
Dany Raygadas awaits the winner of Xavier's Dasia Harris and Troy's Brooke Durden.

Natalie Duran will open the tournament with a first-round match versus Louisiana-Lafayette's Lauren Dupuis. West Virginia's Carolina Lewis will face Lion freshman
Lucia Bustamante in the opening round.
In doubles play, Kaltenbacher and Vorotnikova will take on the WVU duo of Habiba Shaker and Hailey Barret. Bustamante and Raygadas will face Flowers and Sha'Nel Bruins of Xavier.
The team of Villarreal and Bryukhova received a bye. Dupuis and WVU's Yvon Martinez will face the Xavier duo of Jordyn Goody and Dasia Harris. SLU's Sagwal and Duran meet Alexa Mancuso and Lauren Rosales of Loyola.
