HAMMOND, La. – Highly-ranked Spanish junior player Adriana Tirado will continue her academic and athletic endeavors as a member of the Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis program, SLU head tennis coach
Jason Hayes announced Friday.
A native of Catellon, Spain, Tirado is the third member of the 2025-26 signing class. She joins Tbilisi, Georgia natives Mariam Makashvili and Mariam Tetradze.
Tirado is currently the 73
rd-ranked player in all of Spain. She has several tournament wins to her credit, including the U16 Mutua Madrid Open.
"Adding a highly-ranked recruit of Adriana's caliber is a sign of our commitment to competing at the highest level," Hayes commented. "We're excited to have Adriana join our program and we expect her to have an immediate positive impact."
The newest Lions will bolster a Southeastern roster that is coming off a 14-9 mark in 2025 – the most overall wins for SLU since 2016.
