HAMMOND, La. – Sisters Paige and Morgan Duncan will continue their academic and athletic endeavors as members of the Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis program, SLU head coach
Jason Hayes announced Monday.
The Denham Springs, Louisiana natives run the 2025-26 SLU tennis signing class to five.
They join Tbilisi, Georgia natives Mariam Makashvili and Mariam Tetradze, as well as Adriana Tirado, who hails from Catellon, Spain.
Paige is the eldest of the sisters and comes to Hammond for her final collegiate season after stints at James Madison, UL Lafayette and SIU Edwardsville. The younger Morgan will be a freshman.
"As we continue to grow our program, we're always looking for local talent that can help us compete in the Southland Conference," Hayes commented. "Paige is a great addition and Morgan has a bright future."
Paige Duncan spent the 2024-25 season at SIUE, where she earned Academic All-District honors for the Cougars. She finished 13-11 in singles play and 11-11 in doubles action, posting a 3-2 mark in doubles play in Ohio Valley Conference play. Following her 38-0 senior season at Denham Springs High School, Duncan was the top-ranked high school player in the state.
"Being at Southeastern for my final year feels like the perfect way to close out my college career," Paige Duncan said. "It's so special to be close to home and to spend my last season on the court with my sister as she starts her own college tennis journey. We never thought this would happen, which makes it even more meaningful to experience it together."
Morgan Duncan will come to Hammond after a successful career at Walker High School. In her senior season with the Wildcats, she was an all-district and all-metro performer.
"I'm super excited to play on the same team as my sister this year," Morgan Duncan said. "I've always looked up to her, so it's pretty cool to be her teammate and share our Southeastern experience together."
The newest Lions will bolster a Southeastern roster that is coming off a 14-9 mark in 2025 – the most overall wins for SLU since 2016.
