BEAUMONT, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team travels to Lamar Tuesday for a Southland Conference match heavy with postseason implications.

Southeastern (8-14, 3-9 Southland) is two games in front of Lamar (9-17, 1-11 Southland) for the eighth and final spot in the Southland Conference Tournament with six conference matches left in the regular season. Lamar's only conference victory is against the Lady Lions. The conference tournament is Nov. 16-18 in Conway, Ark.
Leading the Lady Lion offense is
Courtney Donald, ranked third in the conference in kills (3.84 per set) and fourth in hitting percentage (.349). The senior middle blocker owns the sixth-best career attack percentage in school history. She also ranks among the best in Southeastern history in kills (8th), attempts (8th), solo blocks (T-10th), block assists (7th), total blocks (9th) and points (8th).
Veronica Turk (2.35 k/set),
Tamra Grayson (1.67 k/set),
Shelby Devlin (1.60 k/set) and
Becky Bekelja (9.05 assists per set) are the other top offensive weapons for the Lady Lions. Southeastern owns the third-best attack percentage (.187) in the conference.

Megan McMillin ranks fifth in the Southland with 4.12 digs per set. Lending a helping hand on defense are Bekelja (2.41 d/set) and
Cherish Krohn (1.99 d/set). Donald (74 total blocks) and Devlin (52 tb), who earned an honorable mention for Southland defensive player of the week, are Southeastern's top blockers.
The Lady Lions picked up a big win last Tuesday at McNeese State, but then dropped a pair of home matches to Oral Roberts and first-place Central Arkansas. Lamar has lost 10-straight matches, all in conference play, since defeating Southeastern in the only meeting (Sept. 15) this season between the two schools.
Sierra Whittaker (2.79 k/set), Wendy Krell (2.52 k/set), Courtney Moore (2.15 k/set) are the Lady Cardinals top hitters while Alex Morford (10.35 a/set) and Madi Martin (5.88 a/set) have split the setting duties.
Megan Schwartz, ranked seventh in the Southland with 3.83 digs per set, anchors the Lamar back row while Moore (68 tb) and Krell (62 tb) are the top blockers up front.
Southeastern returns home to host a pair of homecoming-week conference matches against Stephen F. Austin (Thursday, 6 p.m.) and Northwestern State (Saturday, 2 p.m.).
