HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team released its 2026 schedule Thursday, with the regular season set to begin Friday, Aug. 28.
 
SLU Volleyball Head Coach Lee McBride spoke about the upcoming season, saying, "We are really excited about the upcoming season! With a great core of returning players, including Kyra McKelvey (SLC Player of the Year), and an incredible freshman class, we feel like we will have the depth to win another conference championship! Looking forward to an exciting season!"
 
Coach McBride and the Lions will begin the preseason with a matchup against Xavier (La.) in the University Center on Thursday, Aug. 13. SLU is set to conclude preseason play with a home contest against Tulane on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
 
Southeastern will start the regular season on the road with a three-match series in Oxford, Miss. After facing Ole Miss Friday, Aug. 28, the Lions will take on LMU (Aug. 29) and Northern Arizona (Aug 30). SLU will remain a visitor to begin September, facing UL Lafayette and Memphis in Lafayette, La., for the 2026 Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic, Sept. 3-4. The road trip will extend to Sept. 8, when the Lions face Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.
 
SLU's home-opening weekend will begin on Friday, Sept. 11, with the 2026 Southeastern Showdown in the University Center. After Southeastern faces Charlotte and Texas Southern Friday, the team will conclude the tournament with a matchup against LSU on Sunday in Hammond.
 
After hosting the Ragin' Cajuns in Hammond (Sept. 15), the 2025 Southland Conference Player of the Year McKelvey and the Lions will make their way to Las Vegas, Nev., for three matches, starting Sept. 18. After a double-header against UC Irvine and UNLV, SLU will end its stay in Las Vegas by taking on UC San Diego on Sept. 19.
 
Southeastern will begin SLC competition with a four-game road trip. The team will visit Stephen F. Austin, Sept. 24 in Nacogdoches, Texas, ending the weekend by facing Lamar (Sept. 26) in Beaumont, Texas.
 
SLU will begin the month of October in Natchitoches, La., taking on Northwestern State on Oct. 1. The Lions' four-game road slate will end in Commerce, Texas, where the team will visit East Texas A&M, Oct. 3.
 
Southeastern will be back in the University Center for home matchups with McNeese and Nicholls on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, respectively.
 
From there, SLU will make its way to San Antonio, Texas, for a contest against UIW, Wednesday, Oct. 14, ending the week in Hammond against HCU on Saturday, Oct. 17.
 
UTRGV and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will come to the UC the following week. SLU will host the Vaqueros Thursday, Oct. 22, before seeing the Islanders, Saturday, Oct. 24.
 
The final week of October will feature the Lions traveling to Lake Charles, La., and Thibodaux, La. SLU will face McNeese and Nicholls on Thursday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 31, respectively.
 
After Southeastern hosts UNO, Tuesday, Nov. 3, the team will travel to New Orleans for a rematch, Thursday, Nov. 5.
 
The Lions will end the regular season at home by taking on SFA, Thursday, Nov. 12, before the team celebrates Senior Day against Lamar, Saturday, Nov. 14.
 
The postseason will begin with the Southland Conference Volleyball Championship in Corpus Christi, Texas. The tourney will begin on Thursday, Nov. 20, when the top eight teams in the SLC will battle to decide the conference champion. The 2026 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Dec. 17-20.
