Collegiate Baseball Poll
HAMMOND – After posting a 4-1 week to improve its record to 11-1 on the season, the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team climbed three spots to No. 26 in the Collegiate Baseball poll released Monday.
The Lions, who will travel to face Southern (1-5) on Tuesday at 6 p.m., also received votes in the USA Today Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches Top 25 Poll and The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll.
The game against Southern is scheduled to be televised on Cox Sports Television (DISH Network Channel 421).
Southeastern cracked the national polls last week for the first time since joining Division I and opened the season with a school-record 11 consecutive victories. The Lions had their win streak snapped on Sunday in a 6-1 loss to Texas Southern in 12 innings.
The Lions, who will open Southland Conference play on Friday against visiting UTSA, will send freshman southpaw
Jordan Hymel (1-0, 1.17 ERA) to the mound against Southern. The former Lutcher High product will make his first collegiate start after tossing 7.2 innings in relief in four appearances.

Justin Boudreaux leads Southeastern at the plate with a .409 average. The sophomore shortstop has driven in 10 runs for the Lions while three doubles, a triple, a home run and six stolen bases. Newcomer
Jeff Harkensee (.408-2-11) is next in hitting for the Lions followed by
Cody Gougler (.324-2-13) and freshman
Brock Hebert (.314-0-16).
Southern has lost four consecutive games after earning a 12-9 win at Cal State-Northridge on Feb. 20. The Jaguars were swept in a three-game series by Nicholls State last weekend and opened the season with a loss at No. 10 UCLA.
Curtis Wilson (.467-1-2) and Elliott Armstrong (.467-0-1) each lead the Jaguars at the plate with Diomedes Gonzales (.217-1-8) leading the team in RBI.
Senior left-hander Chase Richard (0-1, 15.75 ERA) is slated to start on the mound for Southern.
