HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team closed out its home schedule with a 25-21, 25-14, 25-23 Southland Conference loss to UTSA Saturday afternoon in the University Center.
Southeastern fell to 8-17 overall and 4-10 in Southland Conference action, spoiling the final career home matches for seniors

Margaret Pittman,
Katie Collins,
Julie Elliott and
Jessica Srajer. UTSA improved to 11-17 overall and 6-8 in league play with the win.
UTSA hit an impressive .258 for the match, while Southeastern hit under .100 in the final two sets and .123 for the match.
Southeastern's
Allison Jones, Srajer and Mayer led the team with eight kills apiece. Sophomore
Arianne Cruckshank had 19 assits, while Mayer led the way with nine digs. Freshman
Courtney Donald had two blocks for the Lady Lions.
UTSA was led by Kendra Rowland, who had a match-high 12 kills. Amber Brooks and Vickie Mundell had 19 and 17 assists, respectively. Briana Mason had five block assists to lead UTSA to a team total of eight blocks.
In the first set, Southeastern hit .364, but UTSA countered with a .462 hitting percentage. Southeastern never recovered hitting -.022 and .083 in the final two sets.
Southeastern will return to action on Thursday, facing McNeese State at 7 p.m .in Lake Charles.
