Kelley received the Stats Perform FCS Walter Payton Award – the Heisman of the FCS – as the nation’s top offensive player, as well as being a consensus All-American selection. He was also named the Offensive Player of the Year for the Southland Conference and the state of Louisiana.
Kelley threw for 2,662 yards and accounted for 27 touchdowns (18 passing, seven rushing and two receiving). He ranked among the national leaders in completion percentage (4th), completions per game (4th), passing efficiency (159.0, 7th), passing touchdowns (5th), passing yards (2nd), passing yards per game (2nd), points responsible for (2nd), points responsible for per game (3rd) and rushing touchdowns (13th). Kelley threw for 300 yards or more in every game – topping 400-plus yards three times.
