In her debut collegiate season, Davis took the first steps to reaching the heights her male counterpart Young met. The Live Oak High was an All-Southland Conference performer at both the league's indoor and outdoor championships in the shot put and qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Championships.
 
At the Southland Outdoor Championships, she won the conference shot put title with a throw of 51-3, while also placing eighth in the discus. She finished second in the shot put at the league indoor meet.

Davis is the fourth Lady Lion track student-athlete – and first since 2000-01 – to receive Southeastern Female Athlete of the Year recognition. She joins multi-time Olympian Christine Amertil, Felisa Howard and Diana Brown.
