Biography

2008 (Junior): Went 1-2 with three saves and a 4.31 ERA (15 ER/31.1 IP) in 13 games (four starts) ... Struck out 25 batters and walked just 13, good for a 7.18 K/9.0 IP mark and a 1.92 K/BB ratio ... Began the season in the bullpen, recording three saves in his first three appearances in Southeastern wins over Eastern Illinois (Feb. 22 and Feb. 24) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (March 2) ... Picked up the win in his first start of the season, holding Jackson State scoreless over 6.0 IP and allowing just six hits and no walks while striking out eight on April 1 ... Went 1-2 with a 4.20 ERA (7 ER/15.0 IP) in four starts and did not record a decision while earning three saves and posting a 4.41 ERA (8 ER/16.1 IP) in nine relief appearances. 

2007 (Sophomore): Made 10 appearances (four starts) while battling injuries during his sophomore campaign … Picked up the win in his season debut by throwing 5.0 shutout innings at Tulane on Feb. 11 … Saw his best performances in relief where he posted a 1-0 mark with a 0.75 ERA (1 ER/12.0 IP) in six appearances … Recorded 15 strikeouts in 21.0 IP.

2006 (Freshman): Posted a 2-3 record with a 4.81 earned run average in his inaugural season with the Lions ... Appeared in 18 games with seven starts, finishing fourth in innings pitched (58.0) and strikeouts (40) ... Pitched eight shutout innings with season-high six strikeouts in his first career start against Mobile ... Earned first SLC win with 6.2 innings on the mound at Sam Houston State ... Struck out five batters in start against South Alabama ... Pitched 6.2 innings in no-decision against Texas-Arlington ... Fanned two batters in one inning of relief at LSU ... Pitched three innings out of the bullpen, allowing no hits and fanning three against Louisiana-Lafayette.
