(41.84 m) and tied for second in the pole vault by setting a new personal record in the event by clearing 15 ft. 3 in. (4.65 m). Roberts’ fourth personal record of the day came in the javelin, with a seventh-place throw of 176 ft. 2 in. (53.71 m). After posting a fifth-place time of 4:37.60 in the 1500 m run, Roberts had totaled 7,364 points. A total good enough to give him a new school record for the third consecutive season and conclude an impressive second day charge that saw him climb from 14th place at the end of day one, all the way to third ... Broke his own school record by posting 7,451 points to lay claim to the conference decathlon crown ... 2009 Indoor (Junior): On day one of LSU Combined Events, had his strongest showings in the shot put, placing second with a throw of 38 ft. 11.75 in (11.88 m), and the 60 m dash, placing third with a time of 7.31 ... Came up big for the Lions at Southland indoor championships despite nagging injuries. After missing previous two weeks of practice with knee and groin injuries, Roberts entered the final event of the heptathlon in fourth place. However, after a time of 2:44.48 in the 1,000 m run, Roberts moved up two spots to claim second and add a crucial eight points to the Lion cause.
2008 Indoor (Sophomore): Took first in section 1 of the shot put with a throw of 12.58 m and took medalist honors in section 1 of the long jump with a leap of 6.36 m at the McNeese Indoor Invitational ... Clocked a time of 7.48 (59th place) in the 60 m Dash and 8.61 (21st place) in the 60 m Hurdles at the Purple Tiger Invitational ... Finished second in the heptathlon with 4951 points at the Arkansas State Indoor Invitational ... Took 14th in the long jump at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships with a leap of 6.60 m.
2008 Outdoor (Sophomore): Earned All-Southland Conference honors for the second year in a row by finishing third in the decathlon with a school and personal record 7,123 points at the SLC Outdoor Championships ... Finished in the top five of eight decathlon events, placing second in the javelin, discus and 110 m hurdles while taking home first place in the 1500 m run ... Posted the highest point total of any Louisiana athlete en route to All-Louisiana honors.
2007 (Freshman): Finished third overall in the decathlon at the Southland Conference championships, scoring 7,068 points and securing a berth in the NCAA Mideast Regionals ...
