SLU (1-3) will host its first home game since the season opener Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team fell to Southern Miss in the final matchup of its road trip Tuesday, 86-53.

Southeastern (1-3) took the lead in the early going of Tuesday's matchup, but Southern Miss (5-0) went ahead late in the first quarter and kept its lead from there.

Southeastern was led by Natalie Huff and Mia Ramos on the offensive end of the floor. Huff scored a season-high of 16 points, going 7-for-7 at the free throw line, while Ramos added 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting.

Huff also led the Lady Lions in rebounding, reeling in six boards. Huff and Lihi Azouri each had two steals, totaling seven steals as a team, leading the game in that category.

The Lady Eagles had four scorers in double figures with Sakyia White, Jakayla Johnson, Meloney Thomas, and Carly Keats totaling 54 of the team's 86 points. Keats led the team in points, scoring 17 with three triples.

Both White (10) and Johnson (12) brought in double-digit rebounds to have a double-double night. After the Lady Lions held Southern Miss scoreless beyond the arc in the first half, the Lady Eagles drained nine three-pointers, going 39.1% from that range.
