Southeastern Remains Undefeated in Conference Beating Nichols 3-0

Southeastern Louisiana University women’s soccer team remained undefeated at home and in Southland Conference play after defeating Nicholls in a shutout 3-0 victory Friday night at Strawberry Stadium.

HAMMOND, La.  – Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team remained undefeated at home and in Southland Conference play after defeating Nicholls in a shutout 3-0 victory Friday night at Strawberry Stadium.
 
Southeastern (4-2, 2-0 SLC) upended Nicholls (2-6-1, 0-2 SLC) in Strawberry Stadium after Mya Guillory, Mackenzie Maher, and Maycie Massingill each had goals.

Guillory's goal was scored in the 18th minute of the match with an assist by Claire Huston after a corner kick by Southeastern. The goal was Guillory's second of the season.
 
Makenzie Maher added a score to the board with her first goal of the season in the 25th minute of the match with help from Emma Jones after Nicholls kicked a goal kick.
 
The third and final goal that ended the match with a victory for the Lady Lions was by  Massingill aided by Guillory after Southeastern had a free kick. The goal was made in the 49th minute of the match. The goal was her first of the season
 
From that point on, the Lady Lions remained consistent. On the defensive side of the ball, Southeastern did not allow the Lady Colonels near the goal, ending the match for them with only three shots and no shots on goal. Offensively, Southeastern ended the match with 15 shots and 10 shots on goal, three goals, and three assists. Guillory and Sam Otrowoski led the Lady Lions with two shots and two shots on goal.
 
Southeastern's next conference opponent is Northwestern State (4-2-1, 1-1 SLC). NSU is coming off of a loss against Lamar 0-2. The match up is this Sunday in Strawberry Stadium at 1 p.m. It will be streamed on ESPN+
