NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to top-seeded Northwestern State in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament Friday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.
NSU (15-4) took the early lead in doubles play. The Lady Demons won on the No. 1 and 2 doubles courts to take a 1-0 lead over Southeastern (3-16).
Northwestern State clinched the match with straight-set victories on courts 3,5 and 6. SLU All-Southland junior
Putri Insani was up a set on NSU's Rozalie Dohnalova on No. 1 when the match was decided.
On court 2, Southeastern's
Polina Paunova was mired in a first-set tiebreaker with Tjasa Klevisar.
