Winning Streak Snapped as Southeastern Drops Regular-Season Finale

CONWAY, Ark. – Central Arkansas snapped Southeastern Louisiana's eight-match winning streak Saturday, handing the Lady Lions a 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, loss in Southland Conference action at the Farris Center.

Southeastern (11-4, 9-3 Southland) hit above their season average and had three players record 15 kills each, but it was not enough to overcome the Sugar Bears (10-7, 8-4 Southland).

Crispin Adams, Jolie Hidalgo and Kailin Newsome each tallied 15 kills in the match as the Lady Lions combined for a .247 attack percentage. Addison Vidrine hit .381 while chipping in nine kills.

Adams enjoyed a well-rounded performance, leading the team with three total blocks as well as contributing four digs, one assist and one service ace. Both she and Hidalgo both hit .480 in the match.

Newsome (15 kills, 10 digs) recorded her 10th consecutive double-double, and 11th overall this season, while Ariana Hebert (33 assists, 10 digs) recorded her third-straight and sixth overall. Calli Collins handed out an additional 21 assists.

Freshman libero Ansley Tullis led the team with 19 digs.

Southeastern, which is guaranteed a winning season for the first time in nearly two decades, qualified for the conference tournament last week. The Lady Lions are looking for its first win at the Southland tournament in program history.
