NATCHITOCHES, La. – Bouncing back from a five-set loss at home, Southeastern Louisiana knocked off Northwestern State in Southland Conference action Thursday evening, 25-22, 29-27, 22-25, 25-21, at Prather Coliseum.
 
The Lady Lions (4-3, 3-2 Southland) kept Northwestern State (2-4, 0-4 Southland) winless in conference play with the four-set victory.
 
Southeastern rallied from a six-point deficit in the opening set, scoring 14 of the final 19 points. A Jolie Hidalgo kill provided set point. The second set featured three lead changes and the score wound up tied 13 times.
 
The Lady Lions missed an opportunity to sweep the match, letting a seven-point lead wilt away in the third set, but bounced back to claim the fourth set and the match.
 
Kailin Newsome recorded her third double-double of the season (19 kills, 16 digs) to lead the way. Hidalgo added 10 kills, reaching double figures for the first time this season, and Addison Vidrine contributed nine.
 
Ariana Hebert (22 assists, 12 digs) and Calli Collins (12 assists, 14 digs) both recorded double-doubles as well for Southeastern.
 
Libero Ansley Tullis led four Lady Lion players with double-digit dig totals, picking up 22 in the match.

Proper social distancing techniques are required at all athletic events. Fans are asked to maintain a minimum distance of six feet from others, wear a face covering over both their nose and mouth, and wash their hands frequently. Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout Southeastern's athletic facilities.
 
While tailgating is currently prohibited, current health and safety guidelines set forth by state and local officials due to the COVID-19 pandemic allow for 25 percent capacity at athletic events. Capacity will be adjusted as state guidelines allow.
