TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A no-hitter in the opener and a 7-for-7 day at the plate by
Lindsey Rizzo highlighted a Southeastern Louisiana doubleheader sweep of Florida A&M on the opening day of the FSU Unconquered Invitational on Friday afternoon at JoAnne Graf Field.
In the opener, SLU (6-5) used a nine-run first inning to fuel an 11-1 victory.
Heather Zumo (4-1) and
Ellie DuBois combined for the eighth no-hitter in program history in the win. Rizzo was 4-for-4 to lead the Lady Lions, while DuBois hit her second home run of the season.
In the nightcap, Southeastern scored four in the second and seven in the third on the way to a 12-2 victory over the Rattlers (0-2). Rizzo was 3-for-3 and
Cameron Goodman hit her first home run of the season.
MC Comeaux (2-2) earned the win in the circle for the Lady Lions in the nightcap.

Game One – Southeastern Louisiana 11, Florida A&M 1 (5 Innings)
Southeastern broke open the game in the opening inning, sending 13 batters to the plate in a nine-run frame. Rizzo,
Briahna Bennett,
Audrey Greely, Goodman and
Cameron Beal each drove in runs to give SLU a 9-0 lead.
An unearned run in the bottom of the second was all the Rattlers would manage against Zumo and DuBois. The no-hitter was the second of the season for the Lady Lions, as Zumo held South Dakota hitless in an 11-0 victory in the Feb. 11 season opener.
An RBI double by Rizzo in the third and a solo home run by DuBois provided SLU with the final margin.
Game Two – Southeastern Louisiana 12, Florida A&M 3 (5 Innings)
Southeastern broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run second inning.
Kelci Bodin, Goodman and
Aeriyl Mass each drove in runs to give the Lady Lions a 5-1 advantage.
After FAMU got a run back in the top of the third inning, SLU broke it open with a seven-run frame in the bottom of the third. A two-run home run by Goodman highlighted the inning, as Southeastern sent 10 batters to the plate to take a 12-2 lead.
Florida A&M scratched across a run in its half of the fifth, but DuBois kept the Rattlers from getting any closer to enforce the mercy rule.
