2019: Earned first team All-Southland Conference honors after a breakout sophomore campaign … Played in 54 games, making 48 starts primarily in the outfield … Hit .315 with seven home runs, 34 RBI, 11 doubles, 19 stolen bases and 32 runs scored … On the Southland leaderboard in slugging percentage (.589, 3rd), on-base percentage (.406, 10th), runs (10th), RBI (8th), home runs (7th) and stolen bases (10th) … Set a single-game school record with three doubles in a 15-3 victory over UIW … In the three-game sweep of the Cardinals, hit .900 with two home runs, four doubles, eight runs scored and 13 RBI on the way to earning Southland and Louisiana Hitter of the Week honors … Also homered versus Stephen F. High School: Two-time All-State and four-time All-Conference performer at Hoover High School in Des Moines, Iowa … Hit .552 with nine home runs, 19 doubles, 59 hits and 53 runs scored in her senior season … Also played on the HHS basketball team.
Personal: Born Madisen Gabrielle Blackford in Omaha, Nebraska … Parents are Kelly and Patricia Blackford … Has two sisters, Taylor and Hannah, and a brother, Colton … Hannah was also on the SLU softball team in 2019 and 2020 … Sister, Taylor (Softball, Northwest Missouri State) and brother, Colton (Baseball, Lubbock Christian) are also collegiate student-athletes.
