HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University had 20 student-athletes tabbed to the 2020 Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana Indoor Track and Field Team, the LSWA announced Saturday afternoon.

The Southeastern men, after claiming their second Southland Conference Indoor Championship (2014, 2020) in school history Mar. 2, made their mark on the team.

SLU's Grant O'Callaghan earned first team honors in the 3k. The junior ran an 8:23:27 at the Bruce Lehane Invitational Feb. 1. The Flowery Branch, Georgia native added to his resume with a second team recognition in the one-mile after running a 4:11.03 at the Samford Open Feb. 20. The two-time All-Southland Conference selection also earned a spot on the third team in the 5k (14:43.61). O'Callaghan also received second team status in the distance medley relay along with Anthony Cordero, Gerald Coleman and Shea Foster. The group broke the school indoor record in route to winning the Southland Conference Championship running 10:00.42.

Ricardo Klotz recorded the best mark in the state in the pole vault. The Scharnitz, Austria product jumped 16 feet, 0.75 inches (5.15m) at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitation. The sophomore also received second team recognition in the heptathlon while teammate Brian Donna earned third team in the event.

Jonathon Sawyer and James Benson II claimed second and third team honors in the 400m. Sawyer, a senior, set a Southland Conference Indoor record at the conference championships running 46.23. The time broke Benson II's record from Feb. 22 when the sophomore ran a 46.34 at the Texas A&M Invitational.

Sawyer and Benson II also helped the 4x400 relay team including Donovan Storr and D.J. Ruffin (2019 Southland Conference Indoor Athlete of the Year) earn a spot on the second team. The group ran a 3:07.67 at the Carolina Challenge Feb. 1 in Columbia, South Carolina setting a school indoor record.

Parker McBride, out of Dutchtown, Louisiana, notched a spot on the second team in the 800m. The sophomore ran a 1:52.43 at the Bruce Lehane Invitational to claim the award.

On the women's side, Sophie Daigle secured three spots on the team. The junior got third team honors in the 3k (10:03.15) and 5k (17:18.48) as she broke school indoor records in both events. The Donaldsonville, Louisiana native also got second team recognition with the distance medley relay team along with Lindsey Hutcheson, Jamira Patterson and Tara Stuntz. The group broke the school record in the event at the conference indoor championships running 12:13.28.

Also for the women, Ashley Davis made her fourth appearance on the All-Louisiana team. The senior threw 51-2.75 (15.61m) at the Samford Open Feb. 20 securing first team recognition.

LSU took home the individual awards winning all 10 of the superlatives.
