COVINGTON, La. – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi swept past Southeastern Louisiana, 5-0, Saturday in collegiate beach volleyball action at the New Orleans Invitational at Digs Volleyball Complex.
 
Southeastern (0-3) dropped all three contests in its initial weekend of start-up action, but head coach Jeremy White was pleased with the effort and adjustments made by the Beach Lions.
 
"I'm really happy with the way the girls competed and learned this weekend," White said. "All pairs gave a great effort against tough opponents. This was a great opportunity for us to get our feet wet and gain a better understanding of where we need to improve to be successful going forward. It's now up to us coaches to use this weekend to continue to improve our team, but I couldn't be prouder of our effort this weekend."
 
The duo of Lizzy Low and Marisa Calvaruso finished up first at No. 5, dropping sets 21-2 and 21-13. Hannah Barosh and Michelle Mirarchi fell, 21-15 and 21-9, at No. 4. The deciding point in the dual came from the top flight as Meagan Scuderi and Karlee Wilkerson dropped their sets, 21-9 and 21-8.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern travels to Houston, Texas for two days of competition in the Southland Conference Showcase, March 14-15, at the Third Coast Volleyball Complex. The Beach Lions are slated to face SFA (March 14 at 10 a.m.), host Houston Baptist (March 14 at 3 p.m.), Central Arkansas (March 15 at 12 p.m.) and ACU (March 15 at 4 p.m.).
