HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team will begin its run in the 2025 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament against San Jose State Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in New Orleans, La. at Privateer Beach.
No. 6 Southeastern (12-18, 3-5 SLC) opens postseason play against No. 3 San Jose State (12-8, 6-2 SLC) to open serve in the third match of the day. Live stats, provided by the conference, can be accessed on the beach volleyball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
The Lady Lions ended their final regular season tournament 2-2 in the NOLA Classic. SLU opened day one of the tournament with a 3-2 loss to San Jose State before suffering a 5-0 loss to the Tulane Green Wave. Southeastern wrapped up day two in New Orleans, La. with a 3-2 victory against conference rival McNeese and 5-0 sweep over Tarleton State Saturday afternoon. Ysabella Lockwood and Kennedi Steele sparked momentum for the Lady Lions on court four with a record of 3-1 to close the weekend.
San Jose State is returning to the sand seeking to regain a position in the win category after suffering a loss to No. 18 Florida Atlantic and Tulane. The Spartans enter the tournament only falling to No. 1 Boise State (19-10, 8-0 SLC) and No. 2 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (19-12, 7-1 SLC) during conference play.
With a win over San Jose State, Southeastern will advance to compete against the winner of No. 2 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and No. 7 McNeese (12-17, 2-6 SLC) at 2 p.m. to close out day one. With a loss to the Spartans, SLU would return to the sand for an elimination match Thursday at 10:15 a.m.
The 2025 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament starts at 8 a.m. Wednesday while the championship match is set for Friday, April 25 at 2 p.m. All matches for the tournament will be held at Privateer Beach on the campus of UNO in New Orleans, La.
