HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana hosts Jacksonville in a three-game baseball series this weekend at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field, marking the first meeting between the two programs. Game times are 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The series finale is a Cane's Challenge contest. When the Lions score 5 or more runs on a designated Cane's Challenge date, everyone in attendance is the winner of a buy-one-get-one-free combo courtesy of Raising Cane's. Fans must present their game ticket and students must a present student coupon in order to claim the meal deal.
The new Southeastern Sports Network will offer a free video stream of all three games in the series. Fans can watch using the Lions' Gameday Experience app for Android or iOS devices or on Southeastern's YouTube channel (/SLUathletics) with any mobile, tablet or smart TV device (e.g., Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Android TV and Roku).
Games Friday and Sunday can also be heard in the Hammond area on the flagship station of the Southeastern Sports Radio Network – KSLU 90.9 FM – in addition to online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via both the Lions Gameday Experience and TuneIn Radio apps.

The Lions (1-2) dropped its home opener, 9-6, Tuesday to UL Lafayette. Jacksonville (1-4) dropped 2-of-3 games at home to No. 35-ranked West Virginia opening weekend and came up short in a pair of games Tuesday and Wednesday at No. 2-ranked Florida.

Grant Upton (0-0, 0.00) heads to the bump Saturday, opposing Jacksonville righty Tyler Santana (0-0, 3.18). Southeastern has yet to announce a starting pitcher for the finale, but the Dolphins are slated to send out right-hander Austin Temple (0-1, 3.00).
Anthony George (.333) and Scott Dubrule (.263) are Jacksonville's top hitters through the first week of the season. Christian Coipel leads the squad with a pair of home runs and five RBI. Jacob Southern owns both of the Dolphins' stolen bases.
Lion head coach
Matt Riser (228-136), who enters the weekend fourth on Southeastern's list of career coaching victories, sits just two wins behind program icon Pat Kenelly.
Southeastern returns to action with a pair of games next week at ULM. Game times are 6 p.m. Tuesday and 4 p.m. Wednesday at Warhawk Field.

Beginning Thursday, February 27, at 2:00 PM, parking areas around Strawberry Stadium will be impacted by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Soccer State Championships. This includes parking in the baseball parking lot, parking garage and Strawberry Stadium lot. All fans are encouraged to show up early for the weekend series against Stony Brook to avoid any inconvenience.
