MATTHEWS, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana men's golf team opens the spring portion of the schedule Monday in the LaTour Intercollegiate Tournament at the 7,170-yard par 72 LaTour Country Club beginning at 8 a.m.
 
The tournament features 12 teams hosted by Nicholls including SLU, Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, University of Incarnate Word, Jacksonville State, McNeese, New Orleans, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin and Troy.
 
The Lions will have five competing in the tournament including seniors William Meyers and Grant Glorioso and juniors Connor Wilson, Kris Kerr and Logan Kuehn.
 
Kerr, out of Loranger, Louisiana, led Southeastern in the fall with a 74.5 stroke average in 14 rounds. The Loranger High School Product finished the fall on a high note placing 10^th in the North Alabama Invitational Oct. 22. Kerr shot par or better in eight of the 14 rounds last fall.
 
Kuehn had a solid showing in the fall as well. The Lake Charles, Louisiana native finished second on the team in stroke average (75.21) and shot 75 or better in eight of the 14 rounds. During Sunday's practice round for tomorrow's tournament, Kuehn recorded a hole-in-one on the 17^th hole (168 yards, par 3) with an eight-iron.
 
The 54-hole tournament begins Monday with the first 36 holes with the final round scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
