LAFAYETTE, La. – A fresh-faced Southeastern Louisiana ball club opens the seventh season of the
Matt Riser era with games against No. 24-ranked UL Lafayette and Louisiana Tech this weekend at Russo Park at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
Southeastern (33-27) faces the host Ragin' Cajuns (28-31) at 6 p.m. Friday to open the 2020 regular season. Saturday at 6:30 p.m. the Lions face Louisiana Tech (34-24) in the second half of a split doubleheader.
Both games can be heard in the Hammond area on the flagship station of the Southeastern Sports Radio Network, KSLU 90.9 FM, online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via both the Lions Gameday Experience and TuneIn Radio apps.
Friday's game will be televised by Cox Sports TV. A simulcast of the game is available through ESPN+ (outside of the CST viewing area only). Riser (227-134), who enters the 2020 season fourth on Southeastern's list of career coaching victories, sits just three wins behind program icon Pat Kenelly.
Southeastern returns to action Tuesday at 6 p.m., hosting the Ragin' Cajuns at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field in Hammond, Louisiana. The game is a Cane's Challenge contest and the first 300 fans through the gate Tuesday will receive a "LionUp or Leave" rally towel.
