HAMMOND, La.  – A total of 89 Southeastern Louisiana student-athletes were among over 900 league-wide representatives on the Fall 2019 Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, which was released by the league office on Monday.
 
Student-athletes from the sports of football, soccer, volleyball and cross country with fall semester grade point averages of 3.0 or higher are included on the list.
 
The Lion football team placed 38 players on the list. Among the SLU gridiron honorees were All-Americans Ferlando Jordan and Pat Allen, as well as fellow All-Southland performers Jarius Gooch, Austin Mitchell, Bransen Schwebel and Chason Virgil.
 
The Southeastern soccer team were fourth among the league's soccer-playing institutions with 23 honorees. Highlighting the Lady Lion contingent was Southland All-Academic selection Megan Gordon.
 
The SLU volleyball team was tied for the second-most honorees among Southland schools. First team All-Southland selection Jodi Edo is among the 14 Lady Lions on the list.
 
The Lion and Lady Lion cross country teams also had 14 selections on the list. Jeffrey Brignac and Breanna Bernard both posted 4.0 GPA's for the SLU runners.
 
Department-wide, Southeastern student-athletes combined for a 3.14 semester grade point average in the Fall 2019 semester. SLU has posted a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or higher each of the past four semesters.
