HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team hosts the Hammond Bracket of the Southland Conference Championships, the SLC-leading baseball team hits the road for a crucial league series and the SLU track teams compete in the final tune-up before the Southland Outdoor Championships.
The 2026 Southland Conference regular season champion and two-time reigning SLC Tournament champion Southeastern softball team (44-12) will open play in the Hammond Bracket Thursday with a 4 p.m. game versus No. 8 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. UIW and Lamar will also be in the bracket, which runs through Sunday at North Oak Park with games starting at 1 p.m. each day.
The reigning SLC regular season champion and current league-leading SLU baseball team (28-17, 16-8 SLC) will open the week with a 6:30 p.m. contest Tuesday at reigning national champion LSU. The Lions then head to Lamar for a three-game series featuring the top two teams in the Southland standings. The series opens with a 6:05 p.m. contest Friday, continues Saturday at 5:05 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
The Southeastern track and field teams will be in Lexington, Ky. this week to compete in the Jim Green Invitational Friday and Saturday.
