HAMMOND, La. – Grant O'Callaghan was named Southland Conference Male Athlete of the Week for the Southeastern Louisiana track team, the league office announced Wednesday.

O'Callaghan, a junior, is coming off a terrific performance at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational Friday. The Flowery Branch, Georgia native won both the 3K (8:46.25) and 1-mile (4:20.55) as the Lions took home the top four spots in the 1-mile.

O'Callaghan continues to add to an already impressive resume. The Flowery Branch High School grad also finished third in the 3K and 5K at the 2019 Southland Conference Indoor Championships.

Next up, the Lions and O'Callaghan will compete in the McNeese Invitational II Indoor Meet Friday Jan. 31 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
