HAMMOND, La. – VolleyballMag.com recently named Southeastern Louisiana head coach
Jeremy White to its list of the top collegiate coaches under the age of 40.
In his first season at the Division I level, White took a team picked to finish dead last in the Southland Conference preseason poll and brought it back to the conference tournament for the first time in three seasons.
Southeastern (14-17, 8-8 Southland) wrapped up the 2019 regular season with the third-largest improvement in wins in the nation, going from a pair of victories in 2018 to 14 this past season. He also led the Lady Lions to their most overall wins since the 2004 season and most conference wins since 2014.
Under his guidance, Southeastern senior
Jodi Edo earned both All-Southland and All-Louisiana honors. The senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana led the Southland with 38 solo blocks, the most by a conference player in nearly a decade. She ranked third in the conference with a .330 attack percentage, tying a program single-season record. Edo also ranked third in the Southland in total blocks (120), sixth in total points (418), seventh in points per set (3.63) and eighth in total kills (338).
White arrived at Southeastern after spending two seasons as the head coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State. He led the Lady Rangers (38-25) to the two best seasons in school history, producing seven All-Conference selections and a Great American Conference Newcomer of the Year. The winningest coach in program history, he guided Northwestern to back-to-back appearances in the GAC Tournament.
